Tammi Murray joined St. James Immigrant Assistance as Program Assistant in July 2021. Tammi was born and raised in Seattle and currently resides in Brinnon. She has three grown daughters and four grandchildren. Tammi is currently pursuing an associate’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Resource Management at Olympic College in Bremerton. She enjoys reading, writing, bicycling, backpacking, kayaking, and traveling. Tammi also enjoys singing and has sung in parish choirs, a Scots Gaelic choir, and currently sings with the Washington State Chapter of Gospel Music Workshop of America. Tammi’s volunteering has included leading a sister parish ministry, organizing a diocesan-wide conference focused on sister parish relationships, serving as a CRS Parish Ambassador, serving on a committee for form a parish meal program, serving on a community planning team for a local Juneteenth celebration, providing cultural companion services, and assisting the legal team at another immigrant assistance program, among others. Tammi is currently learning Luganda and Rukiga (local languages in Uganda) and wants to improve her Spanish skills.
