Louise Mennella writes:

I was born and raised in south Seattle. My family and I are lifelong parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi church in Burien. I have been married to Bruce Mennella for the last 43 years. We have three children, one son and two daughters, and four grandchildren.  Our children attended St. Francis, Seattle Prep and Holy Names Academy and two of our grandchildren are currently in the 1st grade at St. Francis. 
 
I also attended St. Francis grade school, graduated from Highline High School and have degrees from the University of Washington in communication and psychology. In the late 60s I was a stewardess for United Airlines. I retired when I got married which was the custom at that time. My husband and I owned and operated a Ford, Isuzu and Subaru dealership, Southgate, in Burien for the next 30 years.  We sold it in 1999 and I got rehired as a flight attendant for United. I was also a part time counselor for at risk teens at my old alma mater, Highline High School. I joined the staff at St. James Cathedral as a wedding coordinator in June 2009.
 
For the last 40 years I have belonged to a nationwide group of retired United Airline flight attendants, Clipped Wings.  From 1999-2001 I was their National President and just recently chaired their biennial convention held here in Seattle.
 
I enjoy entertaining, cooking, interior design, working out, my job and being with my family.
