Christopher Koehler, MNPL
joined the cathedral staff in 1993 as the Director of the ESL Program.
In his position, Chris works on advocacy, fundraising, planning,
building community connections, promotion, managing program finances,
evaluation and supervision. Chris is responsible for ensuring the
overall health and success of both ESL tutoring and citizenship
services.
Chris was born and raised on Long Island, NY. He graduated from SUNY
Cortland with a BA in political science, and received his Masters in
Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University in 2004. He spent two years
as a beekeeper in the Peace Corps in Guatemala, was the campaign
director for Snell for State Representative, and Cultural Diversity
Coordinator for a local nonprofit. His volunteering has included his
neighborhood homeowners association, Shalom Bayit-Furnishing Peaceful
Homes for Survivors of Domestic Violence, community mediation, a student
peace and justice group, and other issues.
Chris followed the love of his life to Seattle in 1991. They were
married a few years later and are now raising their two wonderful kids.
Chris and his family love to bike, play Wii Fit together, and go
letterboxing. They are currently attempting to learn Danish.
