Andrew Casad joined the Cathedral staff in 2021 as coordinator of
Children’s Faith Formation. He is passionate about sharing the richness
of our Catholic tradition with both children and adults especially
through liturgy, scripture, and history. Trained in the
Catechesis of
the Good Shepherd, he accompanies children as they experience the
joy and wonder of God’s love for us as revealed in Jesus Christ.
Andrew has served in liturgical and catechetical roles in both the
chancery and parishes of the Archdiocese of Seattle since 2013. He holds
a Master of Theological Studies from the University of Notre Dame and a
MA in cultural anthropology. Andrew teaches
online
theology courses with Notre Dame, serves on an ecumenical board for
Alpha, and has written for Catechumenate, Pastoral Liturgy, New
Blackfriars, and Catholic Rural Life.
Andrew and his wife--a UW research scientist--are raising their
children on Vashon Island where they enjoy paddling, cooking, making
music, playing sports, and stewarding their share of our common home.
