Youth Tutor Program

The Youth Tutoring Program (YTP), a program of Catholic Community Services, is an innovative and successful after-school educational enrichment program for vulnerable first through twelfth grade students who live in six low- and mixed-income housing communities in Seattle.

At the tutoring centers, students build skills in reading and math, get help with homework, and strengthen their sense of self-esteem and self-respect. Coming primarily from immigrant and refugee families, YTP students are wonderfully diverse, representing many nationalities, cultures, languages and religions. Unique among tutoring programs in Seattle, YTP provides large scale, one-to-one and group tutoring. Centers are open in the late afternoon and early evening hours.

Program Locations
  • High Point (West Seattle)
  • Jackson Park (Lake City)
  • Lake Washington Apartments (Rainier Beach)
  • New Holly (South Beacon Hill)
  • Rainier Vista (Rainier Valley/Columbia City)
  • Yesler Terrace (Central Area)

Volunteer with the Youth Tutor Program

There are many ways you can become involved! YTP offers a variety of volunteer experiences to match diverse interests and experience levels. Volunteers are needed year-round, and volunteers are asked to make a commitment of at least half of the school year. For additional information, please email Patrick Barredo, or call 206-382-4515.
