Friends of Cathedral Music

Become a Friend of Cathedral Music! You can designate your gift to support our Concert Series, Cathedral Music (liturgical music), and/or Youth Music.

St. James Cathedral is qualified as a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to St. James Cathedral are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Donations are publicly acknowledged for one year in programs for our self-produced concerts and special liturgies, and donors of $250 or more are offered admission for all ticketed Cathedral concerts, and reserved seating on request. When you make your gift, indicate how you wish to be acknowledged in print (i.e. John Smith and Jane Doe-Smith; Anonymous; Jane Doe in memory of Janet Smith).

Click here to donate now via our account on Zeffy. If you wish to split your contribution among funds, you can designate that after you enter your amount and click Continue.

When you make your gift using the green button, you'll be invited to add a tip for Zeffy – they process payments for qualifying non-profits for free so that we get 100% of your donation. This tip is completely optional, and you may change the suggested amount to any number including zero.

If you make donations to additional St. James Cathedral ministries and would prefer giving on the "Our Sunday Visitor" platform (OSV), visit https://www.osvhub.com/stjames-cathedral/forms/music and sign in or create an account. Giving on OSV ensures that your donation will be included on your year-end statement from St. James.

PLEASE NOTE: Any donations made on Zeffy will not be included in your year-end statement from St. James Cathedral. You will be emailed a tax receipt via Zeffy after you've made your transaction.

Support the Concert Series
Ticket sales to our concert series cover only a small fraction of expenses incurred by producing the concerts. Your donations make it possible to bring in world-class musicians and keep our concerts accessible to all. In addition to our self-produced concerts, we offer PNW music organizations a low-cost performance venue, inclusion in our advertising, and administrative and logistical support for their concerts at St. James. For the 2026-2027 season, we host Early Music Seattle (presenting Vox Luminis), Opus 7 Vocal Ensemble, Medieval Women's Choir, Cappella Romana, and Seattle Pro Musica.

Support Cathedral Music
Our adult choirs sing for more than 150 liturgies a year. Donations to our general Cathedral Music fund support expenses relating to our choirs, as well as maintenance of the Cathedral organs and pianos. Our volunteer singers in Cathedral Choir and Women of St. James Schola are supported by the professional singers of the Cathedral Cantorei, who, as section leaders and cantors, share a huge amount of talent, teaching expertise, and experience, and are compensated justly for their work at St. James.

Support the Youth Music Program
Generosity like yours allows St. James Cathedral's Youth Music Program to continue and deepen its vital artistic inclusion and outreach to the Archdiocese and greater Seattle. Your donations help make this program available to all, regardless of financial means, and further enables the ministry of our youth.
