The Esoterics – THE SISTERS

Vocal ensemble The Esoterics presents the second concert of its 2022 season, THE SISTERS, featuring the sacred choral music of Ukrainian composer Bohdana Frolyak and her late sister Hanna Havrylets. Both are composers who were teaching in conservatories before this year's Russian invasion of Ukraine, in the cities of Lviv and Kyiv, respectively. Hanna, the elder sister, died tragically this year on the third day of the war, when she suffered an aneurysm and was unable to get medical attention. The younger sister, Bohdana, has recovered Hanna's scores and shared them with director Eric Banks along with her own works for this performance.

All of the proceeds from this concert will benefit humanitarian organizations in the Ukraine that have been selected by Bohdana. This will be an extraordinary event. Please join them in supporting the people of Ukraine!

Doors open at 7:30pm, and the Cathedral will be closed after the 5:30pm Mass for setup.

No tickets or reservations required; freewill donation taken at the door.

UPDATE TO COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS:
Audience masking recommended; all singers are masked

The Cathedral will no longer require proof of Covid-19 vaccination or a negative test to attend a concert at St. James. Although not required, all concert patrons are highly encouraged to wear a mask while inside the Cathedral. Thank you for doing your part in keeping all of our community members safe and healthy, especially those who are immunocompromised or too young to be vaccinated.

Where to Enter
There are three Cathedral entrances for concerts:

- The Marion Street/Terry Avenue entrance is at the northeast corner of the Cathedral (nearest to O'Dea parking). This entrance is accessible to those with disabilities. The restrooms are located at this entrance.

- The Columbia Street/Courtyard entrance is on the south side of the Cathedral near the Chapel. Accessible via a ramp.

- The 9th Avenue entrance is on the west side of the Cathedral. This entrance is NOT accessible to those who use a wheelchair or have other mobility issues.

Parking Information
- The Cabrini Garage closes at 7:00pm and is NOT available for concert parking.

- Limited free parking (~65 spaces) is available in the O'Dea High School parking lot, entrances on Marion and Columbia Streets between Terry and Boren Avenues.

- Street parking is free after 8:00pm on Saturdays.

- Accessible parking is available on the west side of Terry Avenue, between Marion and Columbia.

- There is a small pay lot across the street from the Cathedral on 9th Avenue and a larger pay lot at 711 Madison Street. If you park at a garage in the neighborhood, be sure to check the closing time.

Public Transportation
St. James Cathedral is within a few blocks of a number of bus lines and the First Hill Streetcar. The #60 bus stops directly in front on 9th Ave. To plan your trip, visit tripplanner.kingcounty.gov (or 206-553-3000), or maps.google.com and search for Terry Ave & Marion St, Seattle.
