St. James Resident Ensemble Opus 7 welcomes the holiday season with a spectacular program of choral music for Advent and Christmas. Highlights include Gerald Finzi's joyous and dramatic setting of the Magnificat, Benjamin Britten's Christ's Nativity, John Rutter's Hymn to the Creator of Light, and Frank Ferko's luminescent Hildegard Motets. Northwest composers Peter Hallock, Jessica French, and Opus 7's Composer-in-Residence John Muehleisen will be featured, as well as Czech composer Bohuslav Martinu. Artistic Director Loren Pontén leads this internationally recognized and award-winning vocal ensemble. Come and relish the sounds of the season at Seattle's historic and elegant "Cathedral on the Hill"!
