Songs of Farewell
St. James Cathedral Cantorei
with Christopher Stroh, organ

Cantorei, the professional vocal ensemble of St. James, is comprised of some of Seattle's finest choral singers. Conducted by Joseph Adam, they offer a concert of music honoring those who have gone before us. Alfred Desenclos' rarely performed Messe de Requiem (Requiem Mass) for choir and organ is paired with C. H. H. Parry's lush and emotive Songs of Farewell, with texts on the theme of death and afterlife by British poets living in the 16th–19th centuries and from Psalm 39, "Lord, let me know mine end."

Concert length is approximately 90 minutes, including intermission.
