Requiem for the Forgotten

Cappella Romana
45th Parallel Universe

Richard Sparks, guest conductor

Requiem for the Forgotten by Frank La Rocca for choir, organ, and strings commemorates the displaced and the homeless, championing the inherent dignity of every person.

The program opens with the a cappella Mass for Double Choir by Josef Rheinberger (1839–1901), who dedicated it to Leo XIII, a pope known for his advocacy for social justice.

Requiem for the Forgotten appears on the Cappella Records recording by Benedict XVI Ensemble, led by the esteemed Richard Sparks, who will also direct Cappella Romana in these concerts, with 45th Parallel Universe.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Construction on the Portico Project will close the Marion and Terry entrance and the restrooms there from January 6 through early April. During this time, the box office will move to the south Columbia Street/Archbishop Murphy Courtyard entrance, which is ADA accessible. To minimize congestion at the south entrance, we ask those who purchase tickets in advance and who are able to navigate stairs to please enter through the west 9th Avenue entrance. During concerts, an ADA-accessible restroom will be available in the west vestibule of the Cathedral, and additional facilities will be available outside of the south entrance of the Cathedral and in an adjacent building. Thank you for your patience as we complete this exciting project!

Doors open at 7:00pm. The concert begins at 7:30pm.

While advance purchase of tickets is encouraged and greatly appreciated, walk-up tickets will be available at the Columbia St./Courtyard south door only (box office will open no later than 7:00pm). Those who have purchased tickets in advance, are entering with a Friends of Cathedral Music donor card, or are on the will-call list may enter at any entrance.
