Day 4 

We pray for the Spirit s gift of right judgment. With the gift of right judgment, we know the difference between right and wrong, and we choose to do what is right. A person with right judgment avoids sin and lives out the values taught by Jesus.

Come upon the Church, and grant to her leaders and to her members the gift of right judgment, that we may follow the light of Christ in a world of conflicting values.  We pray: come, Holy Spirit!
 
Come upon this local Church as we await the appointment of a new Archbishop.  Send us a shepherd filled with your gift of right judgment. We pray: come, Holy Spirit!
 
Come upon all who lead others elected officials, teachers, supervisors, parents.  We pray: come, Holy Spirit!
 
Come upon all of us; fill us, enlighten us, renew us.  We pray: come, Holy Spirit!

Novena Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit!
Come to the Church in our time of need:
Heal, cleanse, and renew us.
Raise up for us prophetic leaders,
humble, compassionate shepherds,
with wisdom to read the signs of the times
in the light of the Gospel.
Come to our world,
and teach us to reverence the earth
and all of creation.
Come to our hearts,
and fill us with your gifts,
that we may live the faith we profess
and commit ourselves anew
to the Gospel of Christ.
Come, Holy Spirit,
with the wind and fire
of a new Pentecost.
 
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful,
and kindle in them the fire of your love.
You send forth your Spirit, and they are created:
and you will renew the face of the earth.
