Thursday, November 7, 2019. At the conclusion of the annual Mass for the Deceased Homeless, we gather in the Cathedral Courtyard as the names of the 169 homeless men and women who died in the past year are read aloud.


Friday, November 1, 2019. Father Ryan presided at the solemn Mass of All Souls with Mozart's Requiem.

Friday, September 27, 2019. It was a privilege to host a special Contemplative Prayer with special guests Brother John and Brother Emile from the ecumenical community of Taize in France.


Wednesday, September 25, 2019. We welcomed O'Dea High School back to school during the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit.


Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Pope Francis accepted Archbishop Sartain's resignation, and our coadjutor Archbishop Paul D. Etienne automatically succeeded as 10th Bishop, 6th Archbishop of Seattle. Ad multos annos, Archbishop Etienne!

Sunday, July 21, 2019. We celebrated our patronal feast of St. James the Greater with a special procession at the end of Masses, followed by our annual parish picnic out on Terry Avenue. Click here for the album!

Saturday, March 23, 2019. We celebrated a special Mass with Archbishop Sartain and the Inclusion Ministry of the Archdiocese of Seattle. A joy-filled celebration!


Thursday, March 7, 2019. We celebrated the Rite of Election with our catechumens and candidates. Here a young catechumen enrolls her name in the Book of the Elect.


Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Ash Wednesday marked the beginning of the holy season of Lent.


Thursday, February 14, 2019. A beautiful granite tombstone was placed on the grave of Archbishop Raymond G. Hunthausen, who was interred in the Cathedral crypt in August. On the right can be seen the tomb of Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy, who died in June 1997.


February, 2019.  For ten days, Seattle was in the grip of a winter storm which saw record-breaking snowfall.


Sunday, January 20, 2019. Children carry flowers in the entrance procession to honor the holy child Jesus, the Santo Nino.


Sunday, January 6, 2019. We celebrated the great feast of the Epiphany!
