Tuesday, December 8, 2015. On this Solemnity of the Immaculate
Conception, we marked the 50th Anniversary of the conclusion of the Second
Vatican Council and the beginning of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. Tonight, we also
inaugurated the Cathedral's new exterior lighting.

Sunday, December 6, 2015. At the Noon Mass, the children joined
a special procession in honor of St. Nicholas.
Saturday, December 5, 2015. The annual celebration of Madre de
las Americas brought hundreds to the Cathedral to celebrate Our Lady of

Thursday, November 26, 2015. On Thanksgiving Day, hundreds
begin the national holiday with Mass at the Cathedral. During the offertory, all
were invited to come forward with a gift of food items for the poor.
Thursday, November 12, 2015. Archbishop Sartain presided at a
special Mass in memory of the homeless men and women who died on the streets of
our city this past year. The ninety-two names were read aloud as a bell was
tolled in their memory.
Monday, November 2, 2015. At the solemn Mass of of All Souls,
we remember all our beloved dead. The Cathedral's death registers are carried in
the entrance procession and placed over the crypt. This year's Mass featured the
sublime music of Maurice Durufle.
Sunday, October 25, 2015. We were privileged to welcome youth
from the Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos Orphanage, Nicaragua. They shared the gift
of folkloric dance and music with the parish community.

baptized at the 10:00am Mass.

Sunday, September 13, 2015. The Cathedral Choir of St. James
returned in all their glory, now under the direction of Dr. Paul Thornock.
Sunday, September 6, 2015. Archbishop Sartain offered a
special blessing for Catholic teachers in public and private schools at the Noon
Mass.
Saturday, September 5, 2015. Archbishop Sartain presided at a
joyful celebration with the Special Needs Community of the Archdiocese of
Seattle. Congratulations to Phil, Stephanie, and Matt, confirmed during the
Mass!

Friday, June 26, 2015. On the 18th Anniversary of the death of
Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy, Bishop Elizondo celebrated a special Mass in memory
of all the deceased bishops of the Archdiocese of Seattle.
Saturday, June 20, 2015. We celebrated the commissioning of
new lay ministers in the Christifideles and Spanish-speaking catechetical
certification programs with a special Mass in the Cathedral.
Friday, June 19, 2015. In celebration of Pope Francis' new
encyclical, Laudato Si, we gathered for an ecumenical prayer in the
Cathedral, reflecting on our call to care for the earth, our common home.
Thursday, June 18, 2015. At the conclusion of our annual
Ministries Dinner, we paused for a prayer and candlelighting in memory of those
killed at Mother Emanuel AME in Charleston, South Carolina.
Sunday, June 14, 2015. We celebrated the Sacrament of Baptism
with seven beautiful children at the 10:00am Mass today.
Saturday, June 13, 2015. We celebrated the Seattle University
Baccalaureate with the Class of 2015. Congratulations, Redhawks!
Sunday, June 7, 2015. We celebrated the great feast of Corpus
Christi with the traditional procession with the Blessed Sacrament.

Saturday, January 17, 2015. Rev. Dr. Leslie Braxton, Senior
Pastor of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, offered a powerful meditation on
Christian Unity at the close of today's Mass for Christian Unity, celebrating
the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Bishop Elizondo presided at this Mass
which brought together Catholics from around the Archdiocese of Seattle.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (January 19-25).
