Thursday, November 22, 2007. At Mass on
Thanksgiving Day, we bring gifts of non-perishable food items
forward to the altar. They are incensed along with the gifts
of bread and wine.

Brunett gathered with dozens of priests and some 500 faithful to
celebrate his 10th anniversary of appointment to the Archdiocese of
Seattle.
Sunday, October 7, 2007. At the First
Sunday Youth Celebration, Father Brant blesses all the children and
catechists as they start a new year of Sunday school.
Wednesday, September 26, 2007. At the
5:30pm Mass, a new group of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy
Communion were commissioned to serve at Mass and take communion to
the sick and the homebound.
Sunday, September 16, 2007. At the 10
o'clock Mass we celebrated Sister Anne and Sister Claudette on the
occasion of their retirement and gave thanks for the many gifts they
have brought to our parish over the last twenty-five years.

Wednesday, September 12, 2007. St. James
Cathedral hosted a funeral service for Jennifer Dunn, former
Representative to the U.S. Congress for the 8th Congressional
District.
Tuesday, August 28, 2007. Father Tony
Bawyn celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the
priesthood at the 5:30pm Mass.

of the parish prayed the rosary with Father Ryan. The rosary

Ceremony gathers 7th graders from Catholic Schools across Western
Washington.
Friday, April 20, 2007. A special Mass was offered in
memory of the victims of the tragic shootings at Virginia Tech
University. Father Stephen Sundborg, president of Seattle

Cabrini Ministry Training program.

Thursday, March 29, 2007. The Chrism Mass was celebrated
in the Cathedral. At this Mass, the oils are blessed for use
in parishes throughout
Western Washington in the coming year.
Saturday, March 10, 2007. The First Scrutiny of the Elect
was celebrated at the 5:30pm Mass.
Sunday, March 4, 2007. At the Noon Mass, we celebrated the
Penitential Rite for Candidates for Full Communion. We also
welcomed Father Tom Marti, MM, who is now in residence at the
Cathedral. Welcome, Father Marti!
Thursday, February 22, 2007. At the Rite of Election, the
catechumens who will be baptized at Easter Vigil are formally called
to the Sacraments of Easter. They will now be called Elect and
will be distinguished by the brown robes they will wear to the
Sunday Mass.
Wednesday, February 21, 2007. We marked the beginning of
the season of Lent with Ash Wednesday and the traditional blessing
and imposition of ashes. "Turn away from sin and be faithful
to the Gospel."
Sunday, February 4, 2007. At the First Sunday Youth
Celebration, the children gather with Father Ryan for a special
candle-lighting honoring Jesus' presentation in the temple.
The candles were blessed on the Feast of the Presentation, February
2.
Saturday, January 27. Children celebrating their First
Reconciliation gather around the font with Father Ryan and bless
themselves with the holy water that recalls their baptism.
Many of these children were baptized in this font!
