Volunteers walk alongside newcomers as they navigate a variety of steps towards independence during their first months in the United States. Specific tasks will vary from week to week and could include providing transportation to appointments, supporting employment placement, securing and setting-up housing, enrolling children in school, registering for benefits, collecting household items, and more. All efforts conducted by refugee support volunteers are centered on a commitment to enduring friendships among neighbors.
