MASS OF THANKSGIVING
Please be patient... photos may take a few moments to download.
The parish of St. James gathered for the ten o'clock Mass on Sunday
morning. Dr. James Savage, Director of Music, chose music to
echo what was heard at the Mass celebrated by Bishop O'Dea at St.
Edward's Chapel on November 13, 1904. The Kyrie by
Eduardo Marzo was sung at the Mass of Dedication in 1904; the
Agnus Dei was written by Cathedral Music Director Dr. Franklin
Sawyer Palmer in 1921.
The children's Schola Cantorum, under the direction of Stacey Sunde,
sings at the Noon Mass.
The hymn of praise: "And may the Son on us bestow all gifts that from
the spirit flow!"
Seattle City Councilwoman Jean Godden announces that the City of
Seattle has declared Sunday, November 14, 2004 "St. James Cathedral
Parish Day"!
It's official! The proclamation was read aloud at the
conclusion of each Mass. Councilman David Della made the
proclamation at the ten o'clock Mass. Pastoral Associate Patty
Bowman read the proclamation at the other Masses.
Father Ryan is joined at the altar by Father David Brant and Father
Dick Ward.
