Dear Friends,

“In all circumstances, give thanks.” Those words from St. Paul’s First Letter to the Thessalonians have a special timeliness about them, don’t they? We have experienced so much this past year. War, conflict, and division in our nation and our world. Changes in our Church, with a new Holy Father. Changes in the way we understand our parish community, as we become one parish family with Immaculate Conception and Christ Our Hope. Not to mention changes in our parish, with a new pastor and two new parochial vicars!

In all of these circumstances, though, we give thanks! We have so much to be grateful for: the gift of life, the gift of faith, and the gift of this wonderful parish community. Through all these changes, we continue to carry out our mission here in our city. We gather Sunday after Sunday to listen to God’s word; we celebrate the sacraments with joy and reverence; we educate our children in the faith; and we serve the neediest among us. I pray we always will!

Now, more than ever, let us commit ourselves to this family of faith. I ask you to consider making a sacrificial gift to help our parish meet its financial obligations and continue to carry out our mission. It is our giving that makes possible so many of the good things that go on here in the Cathedral parish, week in and week out.
Thank you for your prayerful response and for all the ways you make this parish community the wonderful place that it is! What a privilege it is to serve as your pastor.

Father Gary F. Lazzeroni
Pastor
