Cathedral Resident Ensemble Opus 7 Vocal Ensemble’s popular holiday tradition returns with a performance of Benjamin Britten’s brilliantly entertaining and moving cantata, Saint Nicolas, featuring the Cathedral Chamber Orchestra, tenor Howard Fankhauser, and Jubilate!, St. James’ own young women’s ensemble. Joseph Adam presents a concert of music for the Advent season on St. James’ acclaimed pipe organs, including works by Buxtehude, Bach, DeGrigny, Tournemire, and Peeters. Suggested donation $15, students and seniors pay as able.

CANDLELIGHT, CAROLS & CATHEDRAL CHILDREN

The beautiful, traditional service of congregational carols and children’s pure voices in the splendor of the candlelit Cathedral. Our Schola Cantorum and Jubilate!, Stacey Sunde, conductor, are joined by members of the Cathedral Chamber Orchestra and the gentle, evocative sounds of our Orff percussion ensemble in traditional carols from around the world.
