THE SIXTH STATION.  Veronica wipes the face of Jesus

Let us look once more, Veronica,
at the cloth you gathered up,
at the face of the Holy Viaticum,
that holy linen veil
where Veronica hid the face of the Harvester,
so that his image would cling to it eternally,
that image which is made of his blood, his tears,
and our spittle!
