 On
Corpus Christi, the Church throughout the world celebrates a special
feast in honor of the sacrament of Christ's Body and Blood, his real and
living presence in our midst.

Choirs accompany the procession with songs in honor of Christ in the
Blessed Sacrament.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion join the procession.

Corpus Christi is a day for joy and celebration: Christ is with us on
our journey!
 In
the Eucharist, we become what we receive...

...we are the Body of Christ.
 We
are called to take our faith to the streets--

--every single day.
 The
children who made their First Holy Communion this year read the Prayers
of the Faithful and joined the procession, scattering flower petals to
prepare the way for Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.

It's OK to have fun on Corpus Christi!

The Elliott Bay Pipe Band, led by Cathedral Piper Tyrone Heade

Jesus lives and walks in the midst of his people.
 The
procession ends with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament on Terry
Avenue.

"May we all one bread, one body be, in this blest sacrament of unity!"

"Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the altar."

"Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the
Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of
me." (John 6:56-57)

"This is the bread that came down from heaven... whoever eats this
bread will live forever." (John 6:58)
