On Sunday, November 13, in union with Cathedral churches throughout the world, we solemnly closed the Jubilee Doors of Mercy as we prepare to mark the end of this extraordinary Jubilee Year.

The Year of Mercy Banner leads the way at the Noon Mass.

At the end of each Mass, Father Ryan invited the whole assembly to join him in processing out through the Doors of Mercy. "It will be a strong, symbolic way of saying that we are going to take out there – to our homes, our neighborhoods, our workplaces, to the world in which we live – we are going to take out there the message our world needs more than ever to hear: the message of mercy." Click here to read Father Ryan's homily.

Even on this rainy day, hundreds issued through the doors, and the Cathedral was full of pilgrims throughout the day.

The doors are formally closed by Julianna Castro and Corinna Laughlin, who led well over a hundred Jubilee Year pilgrimages this past year, welcoming literally thousands of people to St. James Cathedral.
