The
celebration of Christmas at St. James Cathedral begins with the Vigil
Mass on Christmas Eve with youth servers, readers, choristers, and more!
Children from our Faith Formation programs lead the way with "parols,"
star-shaped lanterns which are a beloved Christmas tradition from the
Philippines.
Hundreds of children join the procession with the figures for our manger
scene.

A cloud of incense surrounds the altar during the Eucharistic Prayer.
Each year, the 10:00pm Mass of Christmas Night is broadcast on KING 5.

Christmas continues with the celebration of Evening Prayer with
Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
The last Mass of Christmas at the Cathedral in the evening of Christmas

The last Mass concludes with the singing of "Silent Night" and the
lighting of candles.
The
season of Christmas continues until the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the
