On this day in Rome, Pope Francis led an hour of Eucharistic adoration.
United with him in spirit, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and
Blood of Christ--Corpus Christi.
The procession with the Blessed Sacrament is a traditional part of this great
feast.
Walking with Christ in our midst, we take our faith to the streets.
Servers and youth musicians lead the way.
"Jesus, here present, our living Savior,
grant us your mercy, show us your favor."
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Men of the Cathedral Choir
Children scatter flower petals before the Blessed Sacrament, exposed in the
monstrance
carried by Father Ryan.
Children carry special pennants: "love," "faith," "prayer."
The Women of the Cathedral Choir
Our youngest musicians honor Jesus with songs--and color!
At the center of the procession, Father Ryan carries the Blessed Sacrament.
The canopy honors the presence of Christ.
Father Ryan gives Benediction--a solemn blessing of the people with the
consecrated host.
It wouldn't be a procession without Tyrone Heade, Cathedral Piper, and the
Elliott Bay Pipe Band!
