On Saturday, December 15, 2012, hundreds from across the Archdiocese of Seattle gathered in the Cathedral for our annual Simbang Gabi celebration.  Simbang Gabi is a novena of Masses leading up to the celebration of Christmas.  The coordinators of Simbang Gabi in parishes all over western Washington were commissioned by Archbishop Sartain. 
 

Festive parols, symbolized the light of Christ, are carried in procession.
 





During the Gloria, illuminated parols descend from the oculus.
 



 



After the homily, Archbishop Sartain commissions the Simbang Gabi coordinators and blesses their colorful parols.
