On the great feast of the Epiphany, we celebrate the manifestation of Christ to all the nations.

The large parol, the star-shaped lantern over the altar, recalls the star
that led the Magi to the infant Christ.

An Epiphany tradition!  At the end of Mass, Father Ryan gives the children candy coins,
which recall the gift of gold the Magi brought to the infant Christ.
