Each Advent, the young singers of our Youth Music Program (nearly 100 strong!)
present the traditional service of "Readings and Carols."
Youth servers assist Father Ryan...
...and youth readers proclaim readings from the prophets and the Gospels that
speak of the coming of the Messiah.
The Schola Cantorum, conducted by Stacey Sunde, sing carols from around the
world.
Jubilate! Young Women's Ensemble
A young soloist sings a verse of "Lo, how a Rose."
Scottish fiddlers Calum MacKinnon and Christina Smith join the choirs:
"Child in the manger, Infant of Mary, Outcast and Stranger, Lord of all."
"When we hear the fife and drum, Christmas should be frolicsome!"
A member of Jubilate! sings a solo in the haunting Spanish carol, "A la Nanita
Nana."
The entrance of the three Kings!
"Born a king on Bethlehem's plain, gold we bring to crown him again."
The high point of the service comes with the reading of the Gospel of the
Incarnation from John and the singing of "Silent Night" by candlelight.
Thanks to all the youth of our parish who participated in this service
which helps us prepare for Christmas!
