In the traditional procession with the Blessed Sacrament on the feast of Corpus
Christi, we take our faith to the streets. Eucharistic ministers lead the
way.

Pope Benedict XVI has said, "The Eucharist is a public devotion that has nothing
esoteric or exclusive about it... We are united over and above our differences
of nationality, profession, social class, political ideas: we open ourselves to
one another to become one in him." (Homily for Corpus Christi, 2008)

Jubilate! Young Women's Ensemble, led by Rebekah Gilmore.

The children who made their first Holy Communion just three weeks ago read the
intercessions during Mass, then joined in the procession with their families.

Children of the Schola Cantorum.

Newly-ordained Father Todd Strange with Deacon Joe Curtis.

Father Ryan carries the Blessed Sacrament, exposed in the monstrance, under an
antique canopy that dates back to the Cathedral's early years.

"We bring Christ, present under the sign of bread, onto the streets of our city.
We entrust these streets, these homes, our daily life, to his goodness. May our
streets be streets of Jesus! May our houses be homes for him and with him! May
our life of every day be penetrated by his presence." --Pope Benedict XVI

The Women of St. James Schola lead us in song during the procession:
"Jesus, here present, our living Savior, grant us your mercy, show us your
favor."

Tyrone Heade and his bagpipe band are a Cathedral tradition!

The procession ends on Terry Avenue, where Father Ryan gives Benediction of the
Blessed Sacrament from the steps of Cathedral Place.

"You are the body of Christ." (I Corinthians 12:27)
