More than 4,000 people braved the snow and ice to celebrate Christmas at St. James Cathedral.  Here, the children of St. Gregory and St. Cecilia choirs sing a prelude to the Vigil Mass.

Meanwhile, children crowd into the vestibule in preparation for the entrance procession with the figures from the Nativity scene.

The Gospel procession.

During the proclamation of the Gospel at the Vigil Mass of Christmas, the figures of Mary, Joseph, Jesus, and the lamb and donkey are processed around the altar.

All the children present gather around the altar.

Father Ryan invites all to extend their hands over the crib figures.

The Women of St. James Schola gather around the altar and sing a prelude to the Midnight Mass.  Merry Christmas!
