Saturday, April 22, 2006. Sisters of Providence
150th Jubilee Mass. The Sisters of Providence celebrate
150 years of ministry in the Pacific Northwest. The provincial
of the Mother Joseph Province, Sister Margaret Botch, SP, stands
before an image of the five foundresses, among them the redoubtable
Mother Joseph.

Sister Karin Dufault, SP models the traditional habit worn by
Sisters of Providence for more than 100 years.

During the celebration, several of the sisters who are celebrating
jubilees renewed their vows as Sisters of Providence. Above,
Susan Orlowski and Helene Maynard renew their vows.

Archbishop Brunett preached and presided at the Mass.

A special altar cloth was created for this Mass. The antique
lace was made by the sisters more than 100 years ago.

The festival choir included many friends of the Sisters of
Providence, among them two young nuns from Uganda, studying at
Seattle University. |
