Please give the following language to your attorney if you would like to remember the Cathedral in your will. UNRESTRICTED BEQUESTS are gifts of cash, personal, or real property which you, the donor, allow the pastor to use for those projects or ministries most in need at the time. I, __________________, bequeath to the corporation of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle, for the sole benefit of St. James Cathedral Parish, 804 Ninth Avenue, Seattle, Washington, the sum of $_________ or _________% of my residuary estate to be used for the greatest need. RESTRICTED BEQUESTS are gifts made to the Cathedral which direct the parish in how the funds are to be used. This kind of bequest allows you, the donor, to support specifically those programs and ministries which are important to you. Restricted gifts are sometimes rendered less effective when changing times and circumstances reduce or eliminate the need for specific services or programs. I, __________________, bequeath to the corporation of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle, for the sole benefit of St. James Cathedral Parish, 804 Ninth Avenue, Seattle, Washington, the sum of $_________ or _________% of my residuary estate to be used for _________________________________ (state ministry or program to be funded). If at any time it is impossible or impractical to carry out the above purpose, the Pastor and parish advisory councils shall determine a use as near as possible to that described above.
