9th and Marion, in the Cathedral Rectory
Open Weekdays 11am - 3pm
and after Weekend Masses
The bookstore is managed and operated entirely by volunteers.
The Saint James Cathedral Bookstore began as a small ministry operating out
of the south tower inside the Cathedral vestibule. The original intent was to
provide parishioners with missalettes, pamphlets, cards, and Cathedral souvenirs.
In January 1996, the bookstore moved to more commodious quarters in the Rectory
building, and is now able to offer a wide variety of items that express the
spirit of Saint James Cathedral parish: recordings featuring Cathedral artists
and musicians; a choice array of books selected by the staff with an emphasis
on social justice, ecumenism, and spirituality; gift items and religious articles
like rosaries and crucifixes, and much more. Through its revenue, the bookstore
supports many of the ministries of the Cathedral, including outreach
ministries and arts programs.
In 2005-6, the Bookstore was beautifully remodeled as part of the Centennial
Campaign. The new store opened its doors on Sunday, January 15, 2006.
Stop by for a visit of our new facility, located in the Cathedral
courtyard!
