Cecilia Erin Walsh, MSW, began working with St. James in
September, 2001. As a Project Coordinator she has lead and worked
on several projects, conducting intake with new students and tutors, and
matching them to study English.
Cecilia was born and spent the first 12 years of her life in Alaska.
Her family moved to Seattle where she graduated from SCCC with her
Associate in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor in Creative Writing
at Antioch and her MSW at University of Washington. Prior to
joining St. James ESL Cecilia s professional work included over 20 years
in the Early Childhood field, providing direct child care and education,
developing and implementing programs and curriculum materials for
children and adults, and conducting developmental assessments of abused
and at risk children.
Cecilia's volunteering includes work in a number of soup kitchens, as
a P-Patch Garden Coordinator, a writer, and a sighted guide for blind
skiers. She is active with Servas International and the Fellowship
of Reconciliation. Cecilia lives with her husband and two cats in
their home in SE Seattle, where they raised their daughter. She
enjoys writing, baking, hiking, skiing, backpacking, yoga, traveling,
reading, and napping with her cats every chance she gets.
