Patrick Suhrbier
came to St. James Immigrant Assistance in the spring of 2015 as a Legal
Services Aide. He brings with him years of social service experience
with immigrant communities along the Texas/Mexico border. More recently,
Patrick interned with the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, where he
gained a broad training in immigration legal assistance and advocacy
work.
Patrick holds a BA in Political Science and Peace and Conflict Studies
from the University of Colorado and a certificate in Non-Profit
Management from the University of Washington. He has also studied and
trained for four years in a small monastery in Nova Scotia, where he
completed a course of training that prepared him for his professional
certification as a hospital/hospice chaplain.
Patrick moved to Seattle nine years ago with his wife and three cats. He
has spent the last two years uniting the skills from his chaplain
training with his experience and passion for immigrant-rights work. .
