The Book of Intentions |

The Book of Intentions will remain in the Cathedral throughout the traditional nine days of mourning. The following are just a few of the prayers and memories that have been recorded since we received word of the Pope's death.
Heavenly Father, The Great Pope John Paul II has been a spiritual light in a storm of uncertainty. I thank You for his leadership. I cannot imagine how he could have been a better Pope. I thank You for him. I have taken much guidance from his teachings and words. I thank You for his wisdom. I love him as the grandfather that I didn't really have and will miss him terribly. I thank You for his kindness. The way he faced death with dignity, strength and the courage of his spiritual convictions, has given me strength to face the uncertainty of life and the inevitability of death. I thank You for his courage. The world is poorer for the loss of this great great man, but Heaven is richer. May God bless Pope John Paul II.
His whole life was a prayer, that's why shortly before he died, he said Amen!!!
To our Beloved Holy Father Pope John Paul II: May you rest in peace and find comfort in heaven! You will be missed by millions and millions of people whose lives were touched by your compassion and love.
Holy Father, your spirit led this Holy Church all of my life. It is your grace and power that has led me in my spiritual journey, as a man you have served us and though we may miss you on earth you will be with us in Heaven.
God love you! You changed the world!
I pray in gratitude for Pope John Paul II's faithful and courageous leadership. You've inspired Christians and people from all faiths. May you enjoy eternal rest.
We give you to God. We loved you. We love you.
For the love you have added to our hurting world I think God.
Desde Seattle, desde España, desde el centro de mi alma, Juan Pablo II, vaya con DIOS.
You watched over us on earth, and I know you will continue to do so from your new home in Heaven. You truly were amongst us as one who serves, always calling us to something greater than ourselves. Thank you and God bless.
I wish I could live my life more like you have. You are such an inspiration to all of us. I can do no more but thank you for your wondrous example. You were serving the Lord when I entered the world, and now I am serving the Lord as you exit. We will never forget.
Dear John Paul the II, I will never forget in Mexico you passed next to us, blessing with your hand, so near to us and so near to our spirits.
Dear Pope John Paul II, thank you for watching over us and the Lord is ready for your now. May you rest in peace forever and forever.
Dear Pope John Paul II, God bless you for all the great things you've done. I love you. May God be with you in Heaven.
I thank you Gracious Father for such a wonderful Pope that you have given us. He has been your faithful servant here on earth. To young and old and those of us in middle age. I am so thankful to have been alive during his time.
May the Lord bless you... you'll always remain in my thoughts and I will look forward to the day when I can meet you in Heaven. You will be okay...
Life is beautiful--John Paul II has blessed the world.
Your mission is fulfilled, you will go to Haven now and meet the almighty God. Say Hi to my Father. Bless my family and the entire world. See you "Papa," we will miss you.
I remember when you became Pope. I was 7 years old. Thank you for being a light, a beacon in these often dark times. I am 34 now and pray for safe passage for you, and safe passage for the new Pope to come.
Thank you for always teaching and showing us what it truly means to reach out and love one another the way Christ did.
Dear Holy Father, rest in PEACE and be joyful with our God. I love you and will always follow your teaching on the dignity of the human person. Thank you for giving your life for all of us.
Dear John Paul II, we'll always remember you and it will be hard to have a different Pope.
It is a great sorrow. It feels like a piece of my heart was taken away. John Paul II, Karol Wojtyla was the pride of all Polish people. My cousins were baptized by him when he was a priest in Krakow. The first time I saw him was in Warsaw in 1985. I will always have him in my heart until my last day.
Thank you for the teaching, the leadership, kindness, greatness, prayers, everything... but most of all for the hope you brought to me, my children, my family, and my country (Albania).
I know no other Pope. You were elected the year I was born. With your passing, one of my life certainties is shaken. You prayed for us every day and loved us constantly. You fought for our freedom and gave us back the faith. Now we pray for you. The choir of angels be with you in the transition from death to life. I love you as I loved my grandfather. Rest in peace!
