Curriculum Resources

  • Pre-School:  Seeds.  Pflaum Gospel Weeklies This publication appropriately calls its pre-school level pamphlets “Seeds.”   The weekly lectionary-based materials are helpful tools for planting the seeds of the Sunday Gospel readings in the minds and hearts of the pre-schoolers in an age-appropriate way.  They learn to appreciate the meaning of God’s Word to them and open their hearts to God’s love for them.

  • Kindergarten. Allelu!  Our Sunday Visitor.  www.osv.com  Provides an activity sheet for each week that the child can use as a place mat at home.  Each ‘take- home’ activity sheet offers a Christ-centered, multi-sensory faith-building lesson that can help family members get involved in following up on the day’s lesson.

  • 1st to 6th grades .  FaithFirst Series, Legacy parish edition  by RCL (Resources for Christian Living).  One exciting component of this series is the award-winning free integrated web site, www.FaithFirst.com.  We encourage families to make the most of this website and use it as a tool to initiate and reinforce faith formation at home.  The links for each grade level include:  Activities, Stories, Games, Chapter Reviews, among many others.  These will give everyone in the family a great, fun and engaging way of learning about our Catholic faith.

  • 7th & 8th Grade.  ‘Faith Fusion’. Our Sunday Visitor  This curriculum material helps students to fuse together the faith they learn in their minds with faith that must be alive in their hearts and actions.

  • 9th – 12th Grade. U.S.  Catholic Catechism for Adults  The Senior High use this as their main reference material. Each chapter of this book begins with the story of a person who role modeled an active faith life. This leads to a discussion of the relationship of Catholic Teaching to USA culture.  Questions for discussion and guides for meditation and prayer are also included in each chapter.  This book offers Grades 9 through 12 students an enriched way of seeing, celebrating and living their faith as a Catholic.

  • PRAYERS for the CATHOLIC CHILD – This special collection of prayers for our children and youth is published by the Archdiocese of Seattle.  Every child who is new in the program receives a copy of this prayer book.  Parents / Guardians are urged to set aside time daily to pray together as a family. This will help your child to learn some of the universal prayers of the Catholic Church at the Archdiocesan-recommended grade level. At the same time, it will enable your entire family to experience in a deeper way God’s personal and constant loving care for you. So… Pray FOR and WITH your children.
