WHAT IT'S FOR
The Hunthausen Charity Golf Tournament supports the many outreach ministries of St. James Cathedral—ministries to children, to the elderly, the poor, and the homeless. In a special way, the tournament supports our Cathedral Kitchen. These are essential funds without which our outreach to the poor and needy simply would not be possible. Your generous support of the tournament makes these and many other outreach ministries possible:
-
The Cathedral Kitchen serves a hot, nutritious meal every
weeknight to homeless and low-income people. An average of
150 men, women, and children share in this meal every evening in
Cathedral Hall on Seattle’s First Hill. Hundreds of
volunteers and generous donors make this ministry possible.
-
St. James Winter Shelter provides overnight shelter and
breakfast to homeless men four nights a week, October through
April. Our shelter provides overflow capacity for the St. Martin
de Porres Shelter, operated by the Archdiocesan Housing
Authority; our Summer Shelter provides the same services for
women during the summer months.
-
The Solanus Casey Center is a referral center, a joint
ministry of St. James Cathedral and Catholic Community Services.
The center provides referrals and assistance for all in need.
- The St. James
Immigrant Assistance Program teaches English to immigrants and refugees and
helps them prepare for US Citizenship.
