Advisory Board Member

Meet monthly with Advisory Board to develop and monitor strategic plans, organize and implement fundraising efforts, provide professional consultation, and oversee continuous improvement.
 

Office Assistantcurrently recruiting
2 hours a week
Use your organizational skills to assist office staff in the daily details of running a community-based non-profit organization. Responsibilities may include: filing, responding to volunteer inquiries, assisting with bulk mailing, copying, folding and stapling PR materials.

Data Entry

Share your experience with Access database or learn new MS software skills by creating and updating student, volunteer and donor records.

Help students communicate with staff and tutor and access medical, legal and other resources.

Meet our students when you visit classes and lessons to assess their learning level using the CASAS testing material.

Lesson Planning Volunteer
Six hours per month/flexible
Use your professional experience as an ESL Teacher or TESOL student to provide our tutors with lesson planning techniques and applications.

 

 

Volunteer In the Community

 

 

 

Volunteer Recruitment Assistant
4 hours a week
Help to strengthen our program by becoming part of the volunteer literacy community. Recruit fellow volunteers by posting ads, attending volunteer fairs and making presentations at community centers and libraries.

 

Research Assistant

2-6 hours per week
Use your naturally inquisitive personality to assist our program in various research projects.
 

Internships and Service Learning Positions
We are sometimes able to offer service learning and internships to students whose needs and interests match those of the community we serve.
