Tuesday began with a visit from David Hoffman. He's a Cathedral Cantor,
but he's also a rugby player! The campers handed round a rugby ball.

Father Todd Strange came all the way from Chehalis (do you know where that is?)
to lead us in Morning Prayer. Father Todd was ordained in the Cathedral
in June of this year.

Father Todd asked: "What is a temple?" He reminded us that we are
all temples because the Holy Spirit lives within us.

Singing the Canticle of Zechariah at Morning Praise.

We celebrated Mass together at 12:10pm. One of our campers beautifully
proclaimed the first reading for us. Father Todd presided at the Mass and
told us about St. Clare, whose feast we celebrate today. You can find out
a lot more about Clare by clicking here.

A lot of today was spent preparing our parts for the Play of Daniel on Friday
(1:45pm--mark your calendar!). What's your part in the play? Are you
excited?
Share your
thoughts here!

We're singing in Latin and Medieval French... and we're learning all our parts
by heart, both words and music. That's a lot for a summer's day!

You guys are real Smarties!

The Queen and her royal court practice the procession.

It's hard to feel like a princess in a t-shirt... just wait till you see them in
their costumes!

The afternoon included a presentation about the other "YMP"--the Youth Migrant
Project. These boys (former Choir Campers!) spent a week in the fields,
working with the children of migrants, and learning about what it's like to work
in the fields. They shared their experiences today.

The wizards have a great time learning their parts and getting to know each
other better!

The wizards practicing their "magic."

Choir Camp would not be possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers,
who spend long hours making sure kids are safe and everything goes smoothly.

Helping a younger camper out!

Keep smiling! We'll see you tomorrow!

Today
Father Todd taught us about St. Clare, who was a friend
of St. Francis. She lived about the same time that the Play of Daniel was
being written. St. Clare wanted to live in poverty for God, and she
established a religious community of sisters (the “Poor Clares”) just as St.
Francis established a community of brothers (the Franciscans). It was a
simple life of prayer and work--but certainly not an easy one! To this
day, women continue to live this life, seeking holiness in the spirit of St.
Clare and St. Francis.
