A HUGE THANK YOU
to Mrs. Adler and Miss Christina Smith for taking pictures today!

Another year of Choir Camp begins with... drum roll... SINGING!

Ms. Sunde leads the way to the Chapel for morning praise.

Father Ryan talked to us about the "cloud of witnesses," the saints who surround
us, and cheer for us as we "go for the gold" in our faith lives! Who are
your heroes of faith? Who inspires you? Father Ryan (a hero to
many!!! ;) ) talked today about our patron, James, who went for the gold.
Click here to read more about James!

The young women of Jubilate! are doing something to get us ready for the Play of
Daniel. Whatever it is, it involves a lot of gold ribbon! Thanks to
these young women for being great role models and for volunteering to help out
during Choir Camp.

The "Cathedral Bombarde" is a group of young men who will be accompanying us at
morning praise and other events throughout the week. Way to go, Bombardes!

Ms. Sunde talked about the "clusters of grapes." Can you spot them?

In the afternoon, we broke into small groups to start practicing our parts for
the Play of Daniel. Here's one group...

...and another...

...and another...

... and another!
It will be great to see all these pieces come together on Friday!

The full-staged Play of Daniel is Friday at 1:00pm. BE THERE!

A Choir Camp tradition is to take a few moments to reflect, write, and draw in
the afternoon. We write thank you notes to all those people who make this
week possible. This camper decided to get comfortable (?!). Read our
reflections below!

Choir Camp isn't ALL about music--there are lots of fun breaks to eat lunch or
have a snack, and just have fun together!

How many new campers did you meet this year? How many old friends did you
catch up with?

My favorite saints... or a saint I
hope to learn about this week!
- I would like to learn more about the saints
- I want to learn more about St. James
- I like St. Francis because he is my patron saint
- I like St. Rose of Lima because she always worked to help others
- St. Michael really inspires me to just honestly make people have a smile
on their faces and to strive for the best
- I believe in the saint that exists inside everyone. This saint is
a person they can choose to be: generous, compassionate, forgiving.
Today, I have already seen that saint in this room, welcoming classmates,
helping with music. Each day, we encounter saints if we are lucky enough to
notice their miracles.
- Hildegard von Bingen was very musical
- I am named after St. Eric, and on my name card it says "The Royal" and
I'm guessing that was because he was a king. I am happy he is a saint in
heaven with God.
- I don't know a lot about saints, but I would like to learn more about
them.
- A saint I'm very interested in is St. George. What is also wonderful
about saints is they always have an amazing story about them and what makes
them so special to us.
- I want to be like Mary.

- St. Martin de Porres was awesome. Dominic in the monastery!
- St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland, but he was not born there.
- I want to learn about St. Frances Cabrini
- St. Joseph, how he was humble and pure. Never lying. Always telling the
truth.
- I thought Father's reading was wonderful and made me feel happy, I don't
know why--excited and joyful in my heart. I don't know exactly how to
explain it.
- St. Therese of Lisieux is special to me because when I have a feeling
inside of me and I need someone to talk to, I can talk to her.
- I don't know about saints but I can learn, but I do know what they are.
- I like St. Bernadette for her perseverance.
- To be honest, i have been trying to think of a saint that I think really
stands out to me, but a little more research would be fine for me. I still
always say to myself to go and research some saints, but that will also come
a little later. I am still trying analyze Father Ryan's reading
deconstruction.
- St. Paul exhorted Timothy to be strong in the faith, to teach others,
and to be bold in Christ Jesus. We should all strive to live our lives more
fully in enjoyment and praise of God, learning and fulfilling His
principles.
- St. Max is really cool! I think Maximilien Kolbe is an inspiration. He
received death without protest and with open hands. I think he is a great
example for receiving what God throws at you in your life, knowing that he
knows better than you.
- St. Paul. I want to learn how/what he did.
- I want to learn about Kateri Tekakwitha.
- Clare of Assisi--my middle name is named after her.

- Saint Margaret of Scotland was a queen as well as a saint and gave most
of her money to the poor.
- I felt hopeful after Father Ryan did his homily for us because he let me
know there are people watching over me and helping me through my journey
through life.
- I want to learn more about Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.
- I would like to learn more about St. Catherine and more about what she
did throughout her life. I understand she was humble, pure, and told the
truth.
- I want to learn about Daniel a little more since we are doing a play
about him!
- St. JoseMaria Escriva is the founder of Opus Dei. He answered God's call
in a hard time.
- St. Alexandra is my patron saint. I feel we have so much in common.
We both have such a strong passion for Christ and we would do anything for
him. Christ is our way, our life, and our hope. Saint Alexandra died for
Christ with full, everlasting love. My hope is that I can be an image of
Christ, just like her. I hope I can love everyone just like Christ. I pray I
will find his will, just like Alexandra. :)
- There are so many saints, and I love them all. Saint Anthony from Padua
is a patron of many things. One thing is helping find something lost. I know
that whenever I am worried or lost I can pray to him and he'll help me find
my way, or whatever it is I have lost. Of course I try very hard to follow
the example of my patron saint, St. Margaret, also known as Sw. Matgorzata
in Polish. I look to her every day, and I know she will never fail me.
- I would love to learn more about the saints, but I really love St.
Martin de Porres, St. Therese, and Joan of Arc, especially, because they are
all very strong saints.
- St. Augustine, his life and how he changed, also St. Francis of Assisi,
St. Cabrini, and St. George. St. Francis of Assisi loved animals; St. George
was a military saint and martyr.
- St. Cecilia is my favorite saint because she was very brave, loved to
sing, and worshiped our Lord Jesus Christ. She is my role model.

- St. Catherine of Siena: she became a Dominican Nun; she was very pretty,
but she didn't want to marry, so she cut off her hair. She is a doctor of
the Church. She told the Pope to go back to Rome where he belonged (he was
staying in Avignon). She is my patron saint. She gives me a present on her
feast day every year. (It's NOT Mom and Dad.)
- As cheesy as it may sound to you, Mary is a role model for me.
Before she was accepted into heaven, she must have thought sometimes that
she would not be recognized so profoundly (although she was probably too
unselfish to think that). She was happy with just bearing the perfect
person, not being one.
- Saint Rose of Lima is my patron saint.
- I think saints are a great example to us and can help us in our daily
life. I think that we should look up to saints and take in their great
example. Saints are truly our heroes of God!
