Pilgrimage to St. James Cathedral
during the Cathedral’s Centennial Year 2007

In this centennial year of the dedication of St. James Cathedral, we welcome pilgrims from across the Archdiocese and celebrate the beauty and rich history of our mother church. With special events, tours and visits, and a city-wide civic and archdiocesan celebration on the feast of our patron James the Greater, July 25, we celebrate the Cathedral of St. James and the role it has played in Western Washington over the past 100 years.

The parishes of the Archdiocese of Seattle are invited to make a pilgrimage to the Cathedral for a tour, Sunday afternoon Vespers and Benediction, and a special blessing.

Groups of 8 or more may also schedule a guided tour of the Cathedral at any time during the year.  The tour lasts one hour and includes time for questions.  This is the perfect activity for a youth group or a seniors group, an RCIA class or confirmation class.  Parishes may also arrange to celebrate Mass in the Cathedral.  If you have questions or special needs, or if you would like more information on deanery pilgrimages, contact Corinna Laughlin, 206-622-3559 x 3996.
