Becoming a Catholic: The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process of initiation into
the Catholic Community of Faith. This is for persons who are seeking baptism in
the Catholic Church or full communion with the Catholic tradition through the
Profession of Faith, reception of Eucharist and Confirmation. It is a process
which enables the study of the Gospels, Catholic teaching, Christian values, and
the development and deepening of a life of prayer and action with the support
and involvement of the parish community. If you are interested, please contact
Kathleen McCabe, RCIA Director.
On the RCIA page, you're invited to:
Would You Consider Being A Sponsor?
We continue to have many new inquirers coming to participate in our Christian
Initiation process to learn more about the Catholic Church (RCIA). We need St.
James parishioners to be companions with our new inquirers to help welcome them
to our community. All training and support will be provided and the time
commitment is reasonable--a minimum of 2 sessions a month (Wednesday evenings).
The rewards are many, including renewal and update of your faith and kudos in
heaven. If interested or for more information, please contact
Kathleen McCabe, RCIA Director.
