O key of David, O royal Power of Israel
controlling at your will the gate of heaven:
come, break down the prison walls of death
for those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death;
and lead your captive people into freedom.
Intentions for today We pray that our eyes may be opened to the needs of the most vulnerable in our community. We pray for prisoners, and for those who are bound in the prisons of loneliness, depression, or addiction, that in this holy season they may feel the healing presence of Emmanuel, God-with-us.
O come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.
