O Adonai
O sacred Lord of
ancient Israel,
who showed yourself to Moses in the burning bush,
who gave him the holy law on Sinai mountain:
come, stretch out your mighty hand to set us free.
Intentions for today Let us pray that the word of God in the scriptures may truly be a living word for us, bearing fruit in our daily lives. Let us pray for a renewed sense of wonder at God’s creation, that all people may work together to protect the earth and preserve its wonders for generations yet to come.
O come, O come, great Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes on Sinai’s height
In ancient times once gave the law
In cloud and majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.
