On the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, we honor the real
presence of Jesus in the sacrament of the Eucharist. At the conclusion of the
10:00am Mass, the rain held off just long enough for the entire assembly to join
in the traditional procession.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Men of the Cathedral Choir

Our first communicants wear their beautiful clothes one more time and scatter
flower petals before the Blessed Sacrament.

Women of the Cathedral Choir

The Schola Cantorum, led by Stacey Sunde

The Elliott Bay Pipe Band, led by Cathedral Piper Tyrone Heade, are a
traditional part of the procession at St. James Cathedral.

At the center of the procession, Father Ryan carries the monstrance, in which
the host is exposed for adoration. The canopy is a treasure dating back to
the Cathedral's earliest days.

The assembly gathers on Terry Avenue for Benediction. We are called to
become what we receive: the Body of Christ, reaching out to the hungry and
afflicted of the world as Christ did.
