On Tuesday, August 1, a group from Assumption Church in Bellingham began the
Pilgrimage for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Parishioners from several
parishes along the route joined the Assumption Parish group for part of the
pilgrimage. The group arrived at St.
James on Tuesday, August 11 for evening Mass, then headed off to St. Mary's,
where they shared a meal and stayed the night. The pilgrimage ended in
Tacoma, Washington. Read more about the pilgrimage at

The pilgrims arrive at the Cathedral, hot and tired after a long day of walking.

Many more joined the group for Mass at the Cathedral.

Leaving the Cathedral and heading toward St. Mary's Parish. Joining the
pilgrims is Michael Ramos, head of the Church Council of Greater Seattle,
pictured in the pink shirt.

St. Mary's parish hosted the pilgrims for a much-needed and much-appreciated
dinner!

The evening concluded with a discussion of the issues involved in comprehensive
immigration reform. Many thanks to all who participated! To learn
