Album: First Sunday Youth Celebration

Oct. 4, 2009

Please be patient; photos may take a moment or two to download.

On the first Sunday of each month, we have a special youth celebration at the Noon Mass.  The young people of our parish serve as altar servers, ushers, readers, ministers of Holy Communion, and choristers!

The children of the Youth Music Program sing a praise song from the time of St. Francis.  October 4 is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, one of the favorite saints of all time.

Joining the entrance procession.

This year, seven of our young people will serve for the first time as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, distributing the body and blood of Christ during the Mass.

Thank you to our new "E.M.s" who have undertaken this important ministry.  You model for us what it means to BE the body of Christ!

The Gospel procession.  In the Gospel for this Sunday, Jesus shows how much he loves children and tells his disciples that they must become like children if they hope to enter the kingdom of God.

Parents and children come forward together for a special blessing.

Hundreds of children, parents, and catechists gather around the altar.  Please keep all the young people of our parish in your prayers, as they begin a new year of learning and praying together.
