On October 18, St. James parishioners Stephen Gannon, Jess and Elizabeth Hernandez, Judy Walker, Kelley Craine, Cindy Eckholt, Mike Bastrom, Pam Shay and David Ireland left for a week-long stay in Biloxi, Mississippi, helping rebuild after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina a year ago.  On Monday, October 3, the Feast of the Guardian Angels, Father Ryan gave them a special blessing at the evening Mass. Click here to read Stephen Gannon's Biloxi Journal and see pictures!

Lord, look kindly on your servants,
who have responded to the call
to love and serve others in your name.
We send them forth as messengers of peace,
marked + with the sign of the cross.
Guide their steps and strengthen them in spirit,
so that they will not falter through weariness.
Make their words the echo of Christ’s voice,
and bless the work of their hands,
that they may bring new hope to those in need.
Send your holy angels
to guard and protect them on their journey,
and bring them back to us in safety.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
