Jubilate!
Retreat |
June 3-5, 2005 |

On Friday, June 3, twenty-two members of St. James' Jubilate! Young Women's Ensemble--with directors Stacey Sunde and Clint Kraus and two parent chaperones--departed St. James in a car caravan for a weekend retreat. The girls sang an ecumenical service with music from Taizé at St. Hubert's, Langley. Parishioners of St. Hubert's welcomed them into their homes for overnight stays. On Saturday morning, they had a vocal session with vocal coach Nancy Zylstra, then headed north to Fort Casey for recreational time--exploring, and even singing in the fields (see pictures below)! They sang at the 5:00pm Vigil Mass at St. Augustine's in Oak Harbor. Parishioners again welcomed them into their homes on Saturday night. Sunday morning they were back in Langley to sing at the 10:30am Mass at St. Hubert's before taking the ferry home.
