The Feast of St. James

July 24, 2005

James "the Greatest" makes his annual appearance at the conclusion of the 10:00am Mass.

James waves to a sea of admiring fans.

Shaking hands with the giant after the Noon Mass.

At each of our weekend Masses, a relic of St. James, housed in a 16th-century reliquary, was exposed for veneration.

The Toucans steel-drum band made the picnic especially festive this year.

At the picnic.

Kids got to climb around in a fire truck (supervised by Seattle firefighters, of course!).

Many thanks to Anna Horton and Stephen Pace, who volunteered to coordinate this great event for the fourth year in a row.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

In the afternoon on our feast day, a magnificent shaft of light in the Cathedral.
