Don't forget to invite your friends and family to Mass on Friday 8/12 at 12:10pm!!
...and don't forget to bring the "homework" Dr. Savage assigned!

From Ms. Sunde
Just when I thought things couldn't get any better, you proved me wrong!  Your singing at the funeral Mass this morning was certainly more beautiful than any angelic choir I could ever imagine.  It's been a real honor to work with you this week and I look forward to the Mass tomorrow when we can share your music with friends and family.  I am one proud woman!  P.S.  Good job with the tennis ball relay!

Some thoughts from the Campers
 • Today was cool, involving, fun, and exciting.
 • This was the best day ever in my life!  I wish I could do it again.
 • Dear Schola Cantorum, Thanks to all of you for giving me a chance to sing my heart out, for being my friends, and for teaching me new things.  You are all awesome people!

Learning about Father Solanus Casey
Wow, today was so cool learning all about that extraordinary man who changed so many people's lives.  He must have been a wonderful person to have known.

extraordinary, extraordinary
you were extraordinary
you gave blind people sight
and there was never a fight
you loved us, we love you
you were true.

Pictures of the day
Special thanks to Angela for taking the pictures today!

Once again we gather around the baptismal font at Morning Praise.  Today, Michael Radermacher, a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Seattle, led us in prayer.

Michael told us all about St. Clare, whose feast day is today.  We celebrate the saints not on the day they were born on earth, but the day they were born into heaven.

Thanks to our cantors at Morning Praise.  It takes courage to sing a solo.  Good job, cantors!

Matt Kocmieroszki, a percussionist who plays with the Seattle Symphony, played for us.  His mallets were a blur as they flew over his instrument!

Cathedral Sacristan Matthew Ley showed some of the historic vestments from the cathedral's collection.  We even got to try some on!  They were heavy to wear.  These are old funeral vestments, once worn by priests and deacons at solemn liturgies.

Everyone knows the answer... at least every thinks they know!

Sister Anne Herkenrath is lucky enough to be related to a saint!  She told us some amazing stories about her uncle, Venerable Solanus Casey.  Venerable means he is on his way to becoming a Saint in the Catholic church.

In the afternoon, Craig Schuck of Ferguson Construction, project manager on the St. James Centennial Construction projects, gives us a tour of the construction zone and shows us how to read a blueprint.

Tennis ball relay in the afternoon.

Everybody loves break time!  Choir Camp is great for making new friends.
